Hole three has a much smaller landing area at the bottom of the hill and will have a new short pin placement soon. (The short pins on holes three and four were removed so they wouldn't be damaged when the heavy equiptment were driving over them.) Hole four also has a smaller bail-out area to the right side of the fairway and will be getting a new short pin placement and new tee pad (crushed by the dredging equipment). Gary (the park guy) is working on the sink hole on hole five and working on getting a bridge from hole four's long pin to five's tee. The City has almost completed a new fairway to hole six short pin and everyone should be able to use that pin placement soon. This should be a great pin placement with plenty of challenge for even the best disc golfers! Gary has been doing a bunch of work on the course and he is really excited about the play it's been getting even with the construction going on. Once he completes these small projects we will start on the second set of tee pads. Despite the course only being a nine hole course, it is turning into one of the best courses in the Quad Cities! When the course officially reopens all pins will be in the long placements to challenge all skill levels. Once the City does the final landscaping in the next couple weeks new pictures will be taken and distances measured for holes three, four and six so they can be updated on the course page and scorecards.

Some cool news from Butterworth Park. The pond dredging is complete, the new bridge and spillway are in and the pond is full of water. The City of East Moline also added 5,000 fish: all small starter fish with some larger fish to be added later this month or in the spring. The pond is now at least 8 to 10 feet deep and has a new rip rap bank all the way around with netting underneath to help prevent eroding and silting. It's also a bit larger with no island at the north end.
