The 4th annual Discin' For Dogs charity tournament was held in 2008. Always a fun event, this year's ace race was no exception. Almost fourty players qualified for the finals and nearly $1500 was raised for the Quad City Animal Welfare Shelter in Milan, Ill. |
In 2008 Butterworth Park in East Moline was the latest park in the Quad Cities to get a new course installed. This fun nine hole course plays through a two level park with large older trees and plays across a pond on the lower level. Concrete tees, dual basket positions along with tee signs makes this a great course for players of all skill levels. |
Flooding damaged several of the disc golf courses in the area. The view from the basket on hole #15 at Eastern Ave. in Davenport shows how high the waters got on the course. It took several weeks for all the damage to be repaired and things to get back to normal!. |
2008 was a tough year on many of the courses here in the Quad Cities. Heavy rains caused flooding to the courses along Duck Creek in Davenport and Bettendorf. The basket on hole #3 took at Eastern Ave. took a big hit! |
2008 saw the addition of a new six hole course in Davenport, Ia. Slattery Park off Northwest Blvd. is the site of this great little beginners course. Located in a beautiful neighborhood park, this course comes complete with concrete tees, and tee signs will be installed in the spring. |

In 2008, Davenport, Ia. player Mark Steddom successfully defended his title as Worlds Amateur GrandMaster Champion. Mark won his division going away with a six shot victory over his nearest competitor. Next year Mark plans to move up to the Pro division! |
2008 also saw the addition of a new area course. Eagle Point disc golf course in Clinton, Iowa was installed this summer. With the financial assistance of the City of Clinton and labor provided by local volunteers, the course was completed and includes concrete tees and wonderful tee signs. |
